Exploring Artist Film as a Temporal and Spatial Medium this project has been navigated in conversation with Composite Moving Image Agency (Naarm/Melbourne) to explore future frameworks for the public exposure of moving image works in different formats and international contexts.

‘Paratactic Imagery’ has emerged out of discussions that delve into the complexities of contemporary artist film and moving image. Exploring the use of the moving image as a medium to complicate notions of reality and fiction, the exhibition grapples with contemporaneity in a world increasingly untethered by notions of “groundlessness”.Via the lens of artist film, participants will seek to investigate how the capture and manipulation of images impact our understanding of time and space.
